Sam Macklin joined the MAC team this summer as a Civil Engineer Intern from Oklahoma State University. Sam has been able to work closely with our people and utilize our tools to earn a deeper understanding of what civil engineers’ day-to-day tasks look like. When asked why he chose to intern at MAC, he explained it was greater than just the internship offering itself saying, “…the relatability and authenticity of the people in the office that day is what really drew me in.” Once he got into the internship he was surprised to learn “the amount of time and effort it takes to get quantities for any given project,” but was happy to find that when he needed help, he could get it. He said about receiving direction, “they have gotten down on my level to teach me and encourage me, and in patience have listened and answered my large barrage of questions.”
Our President, Sam Pappas, said of our intern Sam’s time at MAC that he “brought a fresh perspective and good work ethic.” He continued, “Sam is a hardworking and fun-loving individual who really fits the MAC culture. He is dedicated to ‘serving our clients’ and wants to be sure we do our best work for them at all times. He is great to work with and influences those around him with his integrity, his smile, and desire to dig deep in building his professional skills.”
We are happy to have had Sam as part of our MAC family for the summer, and wish him the best of luck in finishing his education.
