Project Star continues to make quick progress into Winter of 2019. Last weekend, the huge AC units were lifted by helicopter onto the roof (check out the photo below). The building pad, earthwork and grading are complete; with over 350,000 cubic-yards dirt excavated. Site utilities are 95% installed with over 6,000 linear-feet of underground storm pipe already in the ground. Detention ponds are installed, and the pond outlet structures are complete. We have steel in the air (now over 90% complete) and concrete mezzanines and tilt panels are being installed (80% complete). Paving began in late August and over 55% of the 142,407 square yards site paving has been placed. 30% of the landscape/irrigation has already been installed, and trees will be planted soon. The 2.6 million square-foot facility is quickly taking shape…. While work continues at the site, upgrades to the surrounding roads will begin; SW 89th St., Portland Ave., and the I-44/SW 89th Interchange are all being improved as part of this project. MAC is proud to be a part of this iconic project in Oklahoma City. Next time you’re in the vicinity of SW 89th St and Portland take a moment to take in the construction (please be aware of lane closures on Portland Ave between 89th and 104th).
