As part of the I-40 Crosstown Relocation, the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) constructed a new multi-lane city street along the original I-40 alignment. The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) selected MacArthur Associated Consultants (MAC) to serve as the project engineer for the new boulevard.

The project consisted of widening a center median, four to six lanes with street-side parking, and bicycle paths along the length of the project. The project removed the existing bridge structure and reconnected the new interstate with the central business district in downtown Oklahoma City.
