Crossover Detours

Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) chose MAC for professional engineering services to design a four-lane divided section for approximately 4 miles in Woodward County. The project consisted of 12’ lanes, 8’ outside shoulders and 4’ inside shoulders on an offset alignment, which was offset to match the existing configuration at both ends of the project.

A design speed of 70 mph and 4R criteria was utilized for the westbound lanes. Utilizing a design exception for the eastbound lanes, a 55-mph design speed was used. The four-lane section transitioned into the existing two-lane section as it approached Major County and included multiple median openings.
