Today was a beautiful day for the grand opening of the Will Rogers Trail with a ribbon cutting led by Mayor Mick Cornett and other civic leaders. The Will Rogers Trail begins at Meridian Avenue and NW Expressway connecting to the Lake Hefner trails and goes south to the Oklahoma River where it will tie to the River Trail. As Mayor Mick Cornett said, this expansive trail gives cyclists and pedestrians “not just a form of recreation, but a form of transportation.” This trail connects users throughout Oklahoma City, providing a clean and easily accessible way to travel and exercise. The MAC Team, led by Russell Kent and Chad Capra, performed the overall study for the entire 8.7 mile alignment and went on to design the center portion from NW 50th Street and Grand Boulevard to NW 19th Street and Grand Boulevard.

We are excited for this trail to be open and look forward to seeing our great City continue grow one awesome improvement at a time! Check out some photos from the event below!
